On the 15th of May, we celebrate San Isidro, the patron saint of Madrid.
These are some of the traditions on this day.
- Dressing up as chulapos and chulapas.
- Decorating balconies with shawls (mantones).
- Having a picnic in the San Isidro Park, also known as San Isidro meadow, with tortilla de patatas, croquetas, and limonada con barquillos.
- Going to the verbena.
- Eating rosquillas listas, tontas and Santa Clara.
- Dancing chotis.
- Watching the gigantes and cabezudos show.
